CNJMCHC Postpartum Depression Support Group Facilitators Meeting
A committee comprised of health care professionals who run postpartum support groups within our regional hospitals. The meeting provides a structured format to network and problem share/ solve for the facilitators. The meeting is held quarterly at the Consortium.
CNJMCHC Perinatal Addictions Advisory Board
Established to address and coordinate perinatal services for women suffering from addiction, and provide education throughout the central region of New Jersey. This committee is comprised of professionals from treatment settings, prenatal care facilities, DYFS, Drug Court and other community services.
CNJMCHC Methadone Coalition- was established as a recommendation of the Perinatal Addictions Advisory Board. The Methadone Coalition provides the opportunity for developing and enhancing communication and collegial relationships among professionals providing care at methadone clinics and at perinatal addiction programs. Members are from several regions in NJ.
Regional Educators Meeting
Each quarter regional perinatal, neonatal and pediatric nurse educators and clinical nurse specialists meet at the consortium to plan, implement and evaluate regional programs, in addition to discussing clinical issues, standards of care and evidence based practice.
Maternal and Child Health Directors
The MCH Nursing Directors from the regional hospitals meet 3-4 times a year to provide direction to the consortium in developing and providing programs, identify regional trends, and to network.
Regional Bereavement Task Force
The Task Force is comprised of health care professionals and community members from our region to address the needs of parents who have suffered a fetal or neonatal loss. Meetings are held once a quarter.
Regional Childbirth Educators and Lactation Consultants
These professionals meet every quarter to evaluate new programs for parents and professional education related to childbirth preparation and lactation. In addition to networking opportunities, members are provided with a continuing education topic at most meetings.
Maternal and Child Health Coalitions
In an effort to ensure coordination of services and to increase networking and educational opportunities for our regions health professionals, outreach workers and social service agencies, the consortium coordinates maternal and child health coalitions in several targeted areas within the region. Consortium staff facilitates Coalitions in Perth Amboy, Somerset and Hunterdon County. The MCH Coalitions worked at a local level to improve the health of women of childbearing age, infants, and children
